GISELLE

A ballet featuring a classical love story, tragedy and redemption narrative, Giselle, is both charming and heart rending. The music is that of Adolphe Adam, and this production is dedicated to the memory of the great dancer Carla Fracci. The ballet tells the story of a young country girl who is duped by royalty in disguise, only to discover his betrayal when, out of despair, she takes her own life, joining the host of spirits of those whose deaths have been caused by betrayal of the heart. From beyond the grave, she first ensnares her Prince, then releases him out of love. The ballet captures both earthly and spiritual dimensions in stunning choreography and staging.
