THE STORY OF KAI AND GERDA

OPERA BY SERGEI BANEVICH PERFORMED BY THE BOLSHOI THEATRE, MOSCOW

Based on Andersen’s fairytale The Snow Queen, Sergei Banevich’s romantic opera, The Story of Kai and Gerda shines with the light of pure love between two young children in a vivid, action-packed portrayal of Gerda’s heroic efforts to rescue Kai from the evil Snow Queen. This opera is one of the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre’s most successful productions. With stage direction by Dmitry Belyanushkin and the orchestra and chorus of the Bolshoi Theatre conducted by the gifted young conductor,Philipp Chizhevsky, this is a delightful and enthralling production to be enjoyed not only by families, but by everyone.
A pre-performance talk will take place 1 hour prior to performance. (For ticket holders only.)
