FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
THE MARIINSKY THEATRE EXHIBITION
Opened in 1860, the Mariinsky Theatre was the pre-eminent music theatre of late nineteenth-century Russia, where many of the masterpieces by renowned Russian composers were premiered. The Mariinsky story can be traced back to the end of the eighteenth century, back to the glorious Bolshoi Theatre. The theatre has earned its stellar place in the history of Russian culture and is still today a place of artistic excellence and creativity. ROHM has organised a fascinating exhibition displaying costumes, programmes, props and iconic items from the archives of the Mariinsky Theatre, the company which will present Alexander Borodin’s Prince Igor on the ROHM stage.
