SLOVAK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA CONDUCTED BY EMMANUEL VILLAUME

Established in 1949, the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra has become a formidable artistic force, attracting some of the world’s most important talent to the post of chief conductor, including Václav Talich, Jiří Bělohlávek, Leoš Svárovský, Emmanuel Villaume and James Judd. The Slovak Philharmonic is regularly invited for guest performances on leading European stages. Tours abroad encompass almost all European countries, as well as Turkey, Japan, South Korea and the United States. The celebrated Emmanuel Villaume will conduct the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, along with the Bratislava Boys’ Choir, in Gustav Mahler’s exalted and utterly gorgeous Symphony no. 3, voted the tenth-greatest symphony of all time in a survey by BBC Music Magazine.
