LUCERO TENA

QUEEN OF CASTANETS WITH GIOVANNI ANDREA ZANON

The remarkable castanet virtuosa, Lucero Tena, a former flamenco dancer, has appeared as a solo castanetist in prestigious venues on five continents. She performs with renowned orchestras such as the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Tena is credited with having made the castanet a solo instrument in orchestral music and demonstrates an incredible and mesmerizing ability which is wonderful to watch. Among the illustrious conductors with whom Tena has worked are Mstislazv Rostropovich and Rafael Frübeck de Burgos. The Orchestra dell’Accademia Teatro alla Scala is conducted by Òliver Diaz with the participation of the fiercely talented young violinist, Giovanni Andrea Zanon.
