Described as ‘The Artist of the Arabs’, the renowned Saudi Arabian singer, Mohammed Abdou performs in the finest traditions of classic Arab Music. His songs in the mawrouth (inherited) genre are anchored in a thousand years of heritage. Singing with spiritual grace, Abdou first gained prominence in the public arena when he gave an excellent rendition of a set of old Yemeni adwar (songs) considered almost impossible for a young singer to master. Abdou has been singing since the early 1960’s and it seems that today he is better than ever. In 2014, Abdou received three nominations in the World Music Awards - for the World’s Best Live Act, the World’s Best Entertainer of the Year, and the World’s Best Male Artist.
