Muscat, Oman — 20 April 2025 — The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) has once again captured hearts with its recent staging of Robin Hood, a delightful family opera by Michele dall'Ongaro, with libretto by Vincenzo De Vivo. Presented on 18 and 19 April, this vibrant production transported audiences into the legendary world of Robin Hood with humour, imagination, and musical brilliance.
Originally premiered in 2023 at the Petruzzelli Theatre in Bari, Italy, Robin Hood was brought to life in Muscat through a spirited performance that ignited the imagination of children and adults alike. The opera's accessible format and engaging storytelling provided a meaningful cultural experience for families, emphasising the timeless value of creativity and the performing arts.
In addition to the public shows, ROHM hosted three dedicated school performances on 15, 16, and 17 April, welcoming nearly 3,000 students from 80 schools across the Sultanate. These special events underscored ROHM's commitment to nurturing a love for the arts among young audiences.
“The high standard of performance demonstrated in Robin Hood reflects our dedication to excellence and accessibility," said Umberto Fanni, Director General of ROHM. “Our goal is to present a programme that captures the hearts and minds of every generation. We believe in the power of the arts to inspire, educate, and connect."
The success of Robin Hood reaffirms ROHM's role as a cultural hub where stories come alive, and creativity is celebrated across all ages.
